Anne Newton Collection, 1910-1987

The Anne Newton Collection, held by the Archives of Appalachia at East Tennessee State University, consists of black and white photographic prints; correspondence between Newton and donors of photographs; and notes taken by Newton on the prints. Most of the prints depict Johnson City schools and their classes in the first third of the twentieth century. Photographs are copies of originals which date from 1910-38. The correspondence and notes date from 1987.

The current digital collection contains PDF file surrogates created in 2022 of the complete content of the collection.
