The Ketron Family Papers, held by the Archives of Appalachia at East Tennessee State University, consists of correspondence, pamphlets, photographs, ephemera, an account book and a journal, all concerning the Ketron family of Sullivan County, Tennessee. The bulk of the papers are related to Joseph Henry Ketron and his nephew Audley Bruce Ketron. These materials offer insight into the personal and political life of family members and include documents pertaining to the Kingsley Seminary, the coeducational school in Bloomingdale, Tennessee which Joseph Ketron led for 25 years. The collection also includes Joseph’s 1876 travel journal in which he details his rail journey between Springfield, Illinois and New York City.
