Title

William Sullivan Ledgers, 1864-1911

Description

The William Sullivan Ledgers, held by the Archives of Appalachia at East Tennessee State University, consist of two ledgers written by Sullivan in 1878 and 1911-1912, along with genealogical notes related to the Sullivan family. The materials represent aspects of William Sullivan's life, family history, and business between 1864-1911. Sullivan's letter from a camp near Fredricksburg, Virginia in 1864 describes his attitude towards the Civil War in that year. Copies of pages from 1879 outline his police duties for that year and detail his genealogy. The 1911-1912 ledger lists accounts for the Mitchell Powers Company and reflects church and business
construction for the year 1911.
