Description

The Lewis Family Papers, held by the Archives of Appalachia at East Tennessee State University, consists of correspondence, photocopies of an account book, newsclippings, and additional materials related to the history of the Lewis family. The collection also includes photographs and a VHS videocassette tape containing images of the Lewis homestead and a family history narrated by Richard Lewis. The materials document the general business activities and operation of the family's general store and cobbler shop circa 1890 to1895. The account book also contains a listing of accounts for members of the community's Farmers and Laborers Union.

The current digital collection contains PDF file surrogates created in 2024 of the print and photographic content, along with a link to streaming access to the moving image recording.
