The Lamar Stringfield Collection, held by the Archives of Appalachia at East Tennessee State University, consists of compositions, concert programs, promotional materials, correspondence, articles, research notes, and other items collected by Laudie Dimmette Porter when she was a student of Stringfield’s from 1948-1955. It includes a significant body of original compositions by Stringfield for solo instruments and small ensembles. The collection also highlights Stringfield’s work as a flutist and flute teacher, including his unpublished pedagogical manuscript (Guide for Young Flutists).

The current digital collection contains PDF and JPEG file surrogates created in 2026 of the complete content of the collection.
