George F. Dugger Autobiography, 1973


The George F. Dugger Autobiography, held by the Archives of Appalachia at East Tennessee State University, consists of "The Memoirs and Historical Notes of George Frederick Dugger, Sr.," which covers data from 1766 to 1973. The 211-page work is an account of his genealogical roots as well as his personal life. It includes historic information on the roads and highways of Carter County, Tennessee and a history of the Elizabethton Water System and monument near the courthouse. The work is divided into two sections: chapters 2 through 15 deal with his personal experience as related to his legal and political careers; chapter 16 is a 26-part detailed account of his experiences in World War I.

The current digital collection includes a surrogate of the entire autobiography.
