Tune In On My Memories

Richard released this cassette of original and traditional material in 1982 on the Cloudlands label — a small record label operated in Mountain City, Tennessee by Doug Dorschug of Highwoods Stringband fame. It features both his fiddle and banjo playing and is a good example of what he sounded like in his prime. His repertoire was vast, and not limited to southern Appalachia. He had a broad view of traditional music and often spoke of the interconnectedness of fiddle traditions in the Western world. Richard wrote many songs during his life, and taken together they reflect his musicality, humor, sensitivity, and intelligence.

Tune In On My Memories  (Cloudlands 003), released on Cloudlands Music in Mountain City, TN in 1982, featured original compositions by Richard Blaustein; performed by Blaustein (fiddle, banjo, vocals), Doug Dorschug (piano, guitar, electric bass, vocals), Ben Moore (acoustic bass, vocals), Ed Snodderly (guitar), Chuck Silverstein (fiddle), Gary Silverstein (mandolin), Dick Tarrier (banjo), Paul Freibush (harmonica, steel guitar), and Jack Tottle (mandolin).
