Celebrating Forty Years of Service: ETSU's Center of Excellence for Appalachian Studies and Services

The Center of Excellence for Appalachian Studies and Services was established at ETSU in 1984 to serve the people of Tennessee through research, education, preservation, and community engagement.  Over the past 40 years, the Center has excelled at that work, exemplifying how dedication, passion, and academic rigor can be utilized to benefit a state and a region.

The current exhibit highlights some of the programs and initiatives developed in the Center over the past 40 years.  It also points to opportunities the Center's faculty and staff have to lead the region into a future marked by economic development, cultural appreciation, and increased civility and understanding.
