Description
This quilted textile shows the history of the Sulphur Springs Camp Meeting held in 1820. The meeting was part of a larger movement of religious revival or "Great Awakening" in the United States starting in the 1700s. The fabric is screen-printed with images of the congregation, building, and hymns on the margins. It was commissioned by the Center of Excellence for Appalachian Studies and Services as part of Tennessee Homecoming 1986.
