Old Time: Highwoods Stringband, Hotmud Family

While the Brandywine Friends of Old Time Music operated a parallel old time festival for many years, the Brandywine Mountain Music Convention, it was common for at least one old time group to be featured at the Delaware Valley Bluegrass Festival. The Highwoods Stringband and Hotmud Family appeared multiple times, both prominent bands during the 1970s old time revival era. Here’s Highwoods with “Old And Grey” (1976) and Kentucky fiddle tune “Briarpicker Brown” (1977), along with Hotmud playing “Grey Cat On The Tennessee Farm” (1978) and “Bring Back My Blue-Eyed Boy To Me” (1980).
