The J. G. Sterchi Furniture Company Business Records Scrapbook contains 461 documents, most of which, are letterhead stationery of business correspondence between Sterchi's and various clients.   The main geographic concentration is East Tennessee, North Carolina, and Virginia.

The content below includes 94 selections of stationery letterhead that display the range of font, color, and print styles prominent between 1911-1914.  Letter formats and business language of the early 20th century were usually formal, indented style, with proper business letter etiquette from the salutation to the signature line.  Many letters feature reference initials, located on the bottom left, of both the writer of the letter, and the person who typed the letter.  Some letters of smaller businesses are handwritten, but the formality is the same.
