Description

The W. Hanes Lancaster, Jr. Memoir, held by the Archives of Appalachia at East Tennessee State University, consists of a spiral-bound typescript of Lancaster's World War II memoirs related to his military service titled, "A Military Adventure, 1943-1944-1945 for My Four Daughters." Lancaster completed the writing of his wartime reminiscence in 1997. The memoir describes Lancaster's experiences as a gunner aboard B-29 bombers in the Asian and Pacific theatres during World War II, including bombing missions into China and Japan.
