Ruth E. Thomas Scrapbook, 1941

Ruth E. Thomas Scrapbook, 1941

The Ruth E. Thomas Scrapbook, held by the Archives of Appalachia at East Tennessee State University, was donated by East Tennessee State College faculty member Ruth Thomas "in appreciation of the work of Dr. And Mrs. Sherrod, who have done more than any others to make the campus of State Teachers College one of the most beautiful in America." She presumably took the photographs, had them colored, and assembled the scrapbook, but this is not explicitly stated. The scrapbook has wooden covers bound with leather. Hand-colored photographs of "The College Campus, 1941" and "Near the College Campus" are mounted on kraft paper pages. Each photograph has a hand-written caption.
